Quests
How it works: Multiple quests will be available in the second post of this thread. See any you like and think your character can handle it? Reply to this thread with the application in the third post of this thread to apply for the quest. A staff member will approve or reject (highly unlikely) the quest and another thread will be made in the desired location. This is your hunt. Here, on Monster Hunter Rising Falls, we aim for the combination of Monster Hunter and realism. Therefore, to get the grade of the hunt that you desire, you have to be extremely detailed. We use very little statistics here, so everything is determined by prose, or in other words; how it’s written and handled by your character. Once the hunt is over, with either your character failing it or the mission objective accomplished, a staff member will review your thread and post your grade within a week. You will receive the proper award that coordinates with the grade that you achieve.Grading and Rewards
To get an S Rank. S Rank is the highest grade one can get. If one gets an S Rank, they get 100% of the reward in zeni. To get this rank, one needs to role play almost the entire mission and write out the events prior and after. This includes preparation; sharpening your blade, roleplaying out you actually buying out the materials you need, and setting up traps/etc. There should be very little surprise to us, the reviewers, on how your character completed the task. The mission must be roleplayed out very well, seem realistic (to a degree), and creativity is a bonus. You want your reviewers to enjoy reading your thread. Lastly, you want to roleplay on how it ends. If your character is severely injured and you end it as such after defeating a monster; we can judge your character as dead. No, wrap your character up; get to safety; give us an ending. In the end, this is a story of your character; a great beginning/middle/end is a must to achieve an S Rank. Also, you need to bold every item used.
To get an A Rank. A Ranks get you 80% of the reward in zeni. To achieve it, you need to do everything that you need to do to get an S rank, minus the beginning or end.
To get a B Rank. B Ranks get you 60% of the reward in zeni. Granted, you can roleplay the whole entire beginning/middle/end, but getting a B will mean that it was mediocre in storytelling. Either things won’t be explained to us, the staff, or some things won’t be clear in how you prepared/fought/escaped/etc. and we will take that into account.
To get a C Rank. C Ranks get you 50% of the reward in zeni. It requires everything to get the B Rank, but minus either the beginning or end; not both.
To get a D Rank. D Ranks get you 30% of the reward in zeni. We, as the staff, will be surprised a lot through your story; not everything will be explained and your creativity will be lacking.
To get an E Rank. Leave both the beginning and ending out. We dare you. E Ranks achieve 10% of the reward. No matter how well you tell us your character’s adventure, if you leave out preparation and the ending, you will get an E Rank. With there being no due date for posts for either staffs or regular members, the only reason one should get this E Rank is ignorance. No ifs or buts about it.
To Fail. We don’t want to fail you; we don’t. However, if all of your posts seem rushed and your character comes out flawlessly out of a fight with a Brachydios and we don’t believe it (due to lack of explanation or just extremely poor quality of writing); we may flunk the mission. A character can get rankings even if their character loses; but if you don’t get a ranking, you get absolutely nothing. This should rarely be seen throughout the community. If you sincerely tried your best, we may up you to a C Rank and we’ll put you through a training course with one of our staffers to become a better roleplayer on this site. If you fail due to any other reasoning, we, as the staff, will be discouraged to accept your requests to take on hard quests and will often have a bias to getting to your threads last. Remember, if you’re not having fun writing it, we’re not having fun reading it.What if?
What if my mod takes over a week to post? In that situation, pm a staff member with the request for a change of a mod and we’ll get to it ASAP.
What if I cannot post in my mission for a month due to some reason? In that situation, you’re all good as long as you post in our monthly activity checks. If you can’t do that, you need to explain to us prior on why you can’t. If we do end up deleting your account, everything involving your character will be archived; therefore, retrievable once you come back.
What if I only finish the sub-quest and then my character fails? In that situation, you will receive -20% of whatever rank you earn's zeni. We still grade despite your character's results.
What if I don't even finish the sub-quest? In that situation, you will receive a quarter of whatever rank you earn's zeni. I'd figure this would be a short thread and you wouldn't deserve that much in return.
